This tour designed to visit the best and most famous attractions of Cappadocia. You will be visiting the historic painted cave churches of the monastic valleys, Kaymakli underground city, try local turkish food, see how erosion formed caves, fairy chimneys and the soft volcanic rock in Ihlara canyon.

    Full days Cappadocia Tour

    Take a flight from Istanbul or Izmir to Cappadocia in the morning. Pick up from arrival gate and transfer to Cappadocia to join the tour. Our first stop is the Martian landscape in Dervent valley. We visit Pasabag's "fairy chimneys", where the voice of the wind harmonizes with songs of the fairies. We stop by the Avanos center of terracotta art to see how the ceramic and tiles are made by hand. After lunch break, we visit the famous Goreme Open Air Museum to see best of Byzantine art in Cappadocia. Local people of Goreme realized that the soft rocks could be easily carved to form houses, churches, monasteries. These Christian sanctuaries contain many examples of Byzantine art from the post-iconoclastic period. These frescoes are a unique artistic achievement of this era. We visit the carpet weaving cooperative to see how the Turkish carpet is made by hand. We complete the tour with a visit to the Uchisar Rock-Castle which has the numerous hollowed-out containers, rock tombs, and a large water cistern. You will have a panoramic view of the valleys of Cappadocia. In the evening, we have a Traditional Turkish night out to see folk and belly dancing in the cave restaurant. İt is optional.

    Cappadocia Ihlara Canyon Hiking Optional Hot Air Balloon (04:45- 08:30 AM)

    Drive to Ihlara, walking in Ihlara Canyon, a "mirage" in the Steps of Anatolia up to Belisirma village, the ancient Peristrema: "Valley of the Sky" along the Melendiz River. Rock-cut churches, spread across a wild plantation, surprise you with their successfully painted representations from the Bible. Lunch in Belisirma, a local restaurant by the river. Stop by Selime, a village with cave houses at the end of the canyon and a "star wars" like landscape.End of tour.

    Cappadocia

    Depart from your hotel to visit Red valley and explore the famous rock- cut churches and hike 5 km through the Gulludere valley. Then visit Cavusin village. Old Cavusin was abandoned several decades ago due to avalanches. The current village of Cavusin is located on the road. Old Cavusin, with its rock-cut dwellings and stone houses, had several hermitages. After lunch drive to the Pigeon Valley. In the afternoon visit Kaymakli Underground City, where early Christians lived in fear and faith. The houses in the village are constructed around the nearly one hundred tunnels of the underground city, which is one of the most interesting underground settlements in Cappadocia. The underground city was originally carved out as eight floors; however four floors are available to visit. In wartime about 5000 people can refuge in. The tunnels are still used today as storage areas, stables, and cellars. On the way back visit the natural castles at Ortahisar (B, L) Optional Whirling Show.
